2014 - It's a Wrap!

With 180 in the room for lunch this year, the clubhouse was alive with excitement, colour, laughter and champagne! A truly wonderful sight to behold. I think I got a little teary there at one stage!

I would like to personally thank everyone for their generosity which certainly helped make the day such a success. Whether it be participating, purchasing raffle tickets and bags of lollies from the Kandy Buffet, downing bottles of champagne, donating your time and/or prizes and of course sponsoring a hole.

How good was Wayne Bennett?!! His words resonated with many of us on the day and as I looked across the room, I watched him take everyone through a whole range of emotions… Not sure how I’m going to top that next year!

Huge thanks to our fabulous "cart tarts" – Heath and Glen from the  Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, Todd Sergeant from 2NURFM on the 16th hole, Paula Greentree, Kim Ellis, Bree Stedman and Lisa Bartley from the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation. Pam Thexton from La Tea Da for donating her time and a portion of her sales for the day.

Special thanks also go to Annette Watson and Jacqui Bailey from WRHS for assisting with various activities leading up to the event. Justine Orton of WRHS, Michelle Russell, Paula Greentree of HBCF and Kat Blyth for helping me fill the goodie bags!

I would also like to thank Kat Blythe for taking registrations at the door and handing out goodie bags (tough gig that one!), Shivani Gupta, Grace McLean, Michelle Barker and Andrea McMillan for doing a fantastic job selling raffle tickets and finally David, Megan, Lisa, Peter and all the staff at Merewether Golf Club.

Last but not least, Engineroom Design and Myrtec have been exceptionally generous in donating their time and resources. The team at Engineroom Design are responsible for the Divas logo, all the design work involved with electronic mail outs, name tags and promotional material. I can’t thank them enough for all their help, they’re a fantastic team! Myrtec have kindly donated their time to create this website!

Final fundraising tally came to just over $21,323.00 and with costs deducted, the net profit for the day sits at $14,680.00!! Split down the middle, this equates to $7,340.00 for each charity. Not a bad effort for some hijinks in the sun!

If you're not already on the mailing list, I suggest you do so as the event sold out in just over a week this year with golf carts selling out in one day… so get in early! If you have friends that would be interested in being on the mailing list, they can sign up here on the website.

If you ARE keen AND you know someone who might like to be involved in any capacity (playing, sponsoring, prize donations or generally helping out), send them my way!

I already have some super keen sponsors lined up to do it all again next year and I'd love to hear from any new businesses who might also be interested.

Don't forget to check out the Facebook page, there are plenty of fabulous photos uploaded already. Feel free to download, tag or share any favourites.

Finally, I'd like to give another shout-out to all of our sponsors and prize and product donators (links/logos below). The day wouldn't have been possible without your contribution.
